The association has scheduled a trustee candidate forum for March 31 at 7 p.m. “They are not just a stakeholder, they are the stakeholder because these are their children,” Lloyd said. Lloyd, former president of the Calgary Association of Parent and School Councils, echoed that sentiment, saying she’d like to see stronger communication between the school board and parents. “There’s things we could be doing like having more townhalls on education, let’s get parents out and let’s start talking about it.”

“Parents are angry, they’re frustrated in what’s happening in schools, so how do we mobilize parents,” she said.
